Bollywood, India’s Film industry, is an ever-busy sector with innumerable movies for various genres releasing every year. But then even celebrities need space and time to unwind themselves from their busy schedule lives. You must be eager to know where they love to spend their vacations. I thought of presenting a two-part article, covering the Bollywood celebrities’ favorite vacation spots in India and abroad. Today’s edition will be focused on India. You can plan to visit the locations too. I have been to most of the places and I love them, not only because of their natural wonders but some possess historical significance too.
Lonavala in Pune, Maharashtra
Nestled within the lustrous green nature, Lonavala is a favorite vacation spot of many Bollywood celebrities. Several renowned actors and actresses have purchased luxurious properties to spend time amid the enchanting and surreal scenic environment. Due to its close proximity to Mumbai, travel is comfortable and easy. The drive through the highways is fascinating and refreshing. Ajay and Kajol Devgan, Amir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Dharmendra, Natasha Poonawala, Tanuj Virwani, and many other renowned Bollywood celebrities own massive and lavish properties. The obvious reason it is one of the Bollywood celebrities’ favorite vacation spots in India.
Mussoorie in Dehradun District, Uttarakhand
Mussoorie, a spectacular and pristine hill station in the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand, is a traveler’s paradise. And undoubtedly one of the popular Bollywood celebrities’ vacation spots in India. Filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj and his singer wife Rekha Bharadwaj are frequent visitors to this spectacular land. Devina Anand, the daughter of the legendary actor Dev Anand, prefers visiting the place. Even his son had studied in Woodstock school in Mussoorie. Notable film actor Victor Banerjee’s residence is at the hill station. Erstwhile actor Prem Nath of Bollywood, famous for his role as a villain, used to reside at Mussoorie. One of the exotic places to soothe your heart and soul.
Ladakh
A heaven on earth – that’s how I can coin my words when I speak of Ladakh. Intriguing landscape, enigmatic natural wonders, spectacular valleys, snow-capped mountains, awe-inspiring glaciers, and many more adorn the place. One of the preferred Bollywood celebrities’ vacation spots in India, and must include in a globetrotter’s bucket list. Being the shooting location of several Bollywood movies, celebrities often spend their vacations in Ladakh. Gul Panag had filmed her first Discovery Channel show at this amazing place. Milind Soman, India’s supermodel, and fitness promoter have been spotted multiple times at Ladakh spending time amid the enrapturing natural beauty. Many may not be aware but Ladakh is proud to host Phonsok Ladakhi, an aspiring actor who established himself in the Indian Film industry, way back in 1972.
Goa
Goa, an alluring and captivating tourist destination, is flocked by thousands of tourists every year from India and abroad. Bollywood celebrities are not an exception, frequenting the vibrant and jovial place often to spend their vacations, weekends, and even hosting royal parties. No doubt one of the phenomenal Bollywood celebrities’ vacation spots in India. Amitabh Bachhan and his family, Bipasha Basu and her actor-model husband Karan Singh Grover, Malaika Arora, Anushka Sharma and her husband cum India’s cricket captain Virat Kohli and many other Bollywood celebrities have posted their snaps and videos vacationing in Goa. The former Miss Universe and actress Lara Dutta and her husband former Lawn tennis star Mahesh Bhupati tied the knots at Goa. I hope you can guess how famous Goa is among the celebrities.
Jaipur in Rajasthan
Jaipur, popularly known as the Pink City of Rajasthan, is also the capital city of the state. Artistic palaces, majestic forts, gigantic monuments, and vivid landscapes embellish the ancient city of the Rajputs. Its historical glamour is unparalleled and mystical. Bollywood celebrities have often opted for spending their precious time with family and friends witnessing the grandeur and charm of Jaipur. Neha Dhupia specifically is amazed by the splendor of Jaipur and loves vacationing in the city. Recently, Bollywood couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone had spent joyous moments in Jaipur along with love birds Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Ranbir’s mother and Bollywood actress Neetu Singh and his sister also had accompanied them. Even Alia’s mother actress Soni Razdaan had spent her time with the couple. Several high-profile weddings have taken place in the city inviting many Bollywood celebrities like Malaika Arora, Vivek Oberoi, Sameera Reddy, and many more.
Hyderabad
Hyderabad, the capital city of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, is famed for its astonishing building and monumental structures. Historically, it has been quite significant, being ruled majorly by the Nizams. It’s one of the preferred Bollywood celebrities’ vacation spots, marveling at the prestigious ancient palaces, forts, monuments, and iconic royal buildings. The city has been symbolical in hosting sumptuous weddings, visited by renowned Bollywood actors and actresses. Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Oberoi, Sushmita Sen, Tabu, and many more prominent celebrities have spent their quality time at Hyderabad.
