A Short Trip to Altanta in Georgia, US

Business travels are tiring yet exciting, visiting new cities, countries, and meeting new people. Though the trips are short yet there is a certain adventure in exploring a city in a giffy and then indulge into some food and drinks, hopping onto some shopping arenas and lastly immersing into the nature’s beauty. At the junction of May and June, I had been into one of my regular business travels and this time it was Altanta in Georgia, US. I had visited the city long back for a day and glimpses of the memories were afresh in my mind. So even though the workload was there, still there was a good feeling within me which was gaining precedence and I was loving that lingering effect. The moment I returned back after the trip, I was longing to pen down about my short and sweet trip to Atlanta.

Flight to Atlanta

My trip to Atlanta started from Kolkata, India by Qatar Airways, with a changeover at Doha. Its almost a 22 hours journey, hectic, yet filled with variations. There was a small incentive in the journey and that was the mesmerizing view of the snow-clad Alpine mountains from high above the sky. I kept on clicking the pictures and it was indeed an awesome sight to watch. In fact I could see almost all the fellow passengers were glued outside the window witnessing the spectacular scene. For a moment I engulfed myself into the gorgeous view, and then again was back to my regular sleep, movie, internet and so on. And then at last I reached the Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, my destination.

Stay at Residence Inn

After the usual airport formalities of my trip to Atlanta, I was on my way to my hotel – Residence Inn. Though it was not sophisticated from outside, yet the room was immensely large for a solo traveler like me. It was truly spacious with a kitchen, plenty of utensils, refrigerator, dishwasher and cleaning essentials. I was tempted to cook on my own but being occupied whole day in office, I dared to attempt. So it was mostly using the utensils and food was outside. The breakfast at the hotel had a medium spread of food and benerages, more or less perfect for a person like me who prefers healthy and less diet. The receptionists were extremely friendly and courteous.

Greenery around

Though the trip to Atlanta was short and I could barely roam around the city, yet the greenery enticed me to visit the place again which I will be shortly next week. The drives through the lanes was amazing, in between the green tall trees and the dense forest areas. The weather was soothing and pleasant with the breeze seemingly surrounding me with utter freshness. My heart danced with joy, and I loved it. This place may not be extravagantly luxurious but there was some uniqueness in its air. I felt glad and delighted to be a visitor in this city.

The Food and the Drinks

Well, visiting a city, and not exploring the restaurants and food joints, is an incomplete trip. So friends, let me share some photos from my last trip to Atlanta. The best was PF Changs, a menu where they serve the dish with lettuce leaves and then some pan friend chicken with veggies. You need to wrap the chicken and veggies inside the lettuce and then have it with sauce. Then there was a Thai restaurant where I ordered special Thai chicken fried rice with some drinks. Over and all a nice experience with the food and drinks.

Shopping

This time it was a bit light shopping, picked up few casual bags, some socks, few snacks and two to three attire for my son. The shopping arcades were quite big and almost all the major brand shops and stores were present nearby my hotel and office. Being a perfume lover, I did not miss out on picking up two of them.

Return from my Trip to Atlanta

The return back to home was smooth and hassle free. I went back by Doha, had some sleep in the flight and did get some time to roam around the airport at Atlanta and Doha which I usually lack in majority of my business travels. So overall a cool trip to Atlanta.
