My Stay at King’s Cross in London

Business trips made me visit London for an ample amount of time. I somehow have developed a connection with this city. Every time I explore new places and new spots that are alluring and unique. And this time it was King’s Cross in London. The proximity of my office location was a convincing factor for me to stay at King’s Cross in London. Well, I did not book my stay at a super luxurious hotel but at Travelodge. It was a decent one with good breakfast facilities although my preference was to explore the eateries in the surroundings. And indeed there were plenty to hop in and enjoy the delicacies.

King’s Cross Train Station

Let me first write about the train station at King’s Cross in London. There are two parts to the station. One where the underground rail or tubes operate and the intercity trains in the United Kingdom. And the other is the St. Pancreas International station from where you can avail the trains plying to different countries in Europe. The stations are huge and flanked by multiple shops selling clothing, food, drinks, accessories, and many more. You will love to shop around at the station. You will love to enjoy the performance of the live music groups and bands near the station.

Stay at Travelodge

My stay at Travelodge was not bad, in fact quite decent. It was not a royal hotel as such, but from a room cleanliness and size were fine for my business trip. Though I had a better experience staying at a different Travelodge, I felt it was perfect for a solo traveler like me. Food at the hotel was decent but I opted for breakfast for one day. Most of the days I had breakfast near to my office or packed some into my room. Overall a decent experience.

Walking in and around King’s Cross in London

The best part was walking in and around King’s Cross in London near the station and across the streets. I loved the buildings and the restaurants lined along which enhanced the beauty of the place. The walk at the back of the station was indeed a fabulous one. The greenery was quite a treat to the eyes. The neighborhood apartments and parks were neat and well laid out. Watching the Regent’s Canal was another fascination. I could not stop admiring its beauty and clicked as many photos as I could. I missed the gondola ride on the canal, next bucket list for me.

Food and Drinks

Food and drinks were the other interesting aspects at King’s Cross in London. Dishes from multiple cuisines are available at the restaurants and food joints. You can find alcoholic, and non-alcoholic, juices, milkshakes, and many other drinks in the pubs, cafes, and streetside shops. You can keep on hopping in and out and savor your taste buds with the delicacies.

Hope you loved the pictures. Till then next time.
