The plot is set in 1996 in Thanjavur. With a dejected heart young Arulmozhi Varman and his family leave the beautiful town after their ancestral house is partitioned. Settled in Madras, none of them ever visited their home town thereafter for 22 years. Now, they receive an invitation to the wedding of Bhuvana, a younger cousin of Arul. Reluctantly, Arul alone returns to his hometown having decided to return on the same day. However, after reaching the reception, he is warmly welcomed and is always accompanied by someone whom Arul couldn’t recognize. Since the guy behaves as if he knows everything about him, Arul was embarrassed to ask his name. as the story develops, the guy narrates what all happened during those 22 years. All throughout, Arul is overwhelmed with uneasiness that he is unable to recall the guy’s name until he does it and calls him by the name, Meiyazhagan. It is one of the heartwarming November movies to watch.
