Innovative And Flavourful Pizza Varieties
When touring a country like Italy, it is a cardinal sin not to try as many pizza varieties as possible. Much like the rice and rice varieties in Asian countries, pizza varieties in Europe are flavourful and wholesome. Beyond a pinch of doubt, the authentic flavours of pizza varieties are born in Italy. Nevertheless, nowadays, your favourite pizza varieties are available across borders and continents. They come with interesting flavors and toppings. Although many of these pizza varieties may not be available and acceptable in Italy!
Pizza Napoletana, Pizza Margherita, Pizza Siciliana, Pizza Pepperoni, Gamberi Pizza, etc., are a few of the authentic pizza varieties one should taste at least once. Of course, when I say taste them, I mean taste them from where they should be tasted!
“Winter is coming!” Soon, there is going to be a huge hike in demand for all kinds of pizza varieties. As you can imagine, apart from the traditional, classical flavours, in different countries and traditions, they have made innovative changes to pizza varieties. In this particular blog, we shall have a look at such pizza varieties.

Basic Ingredients and Preparation
Flour, water, salt, yeast, and olive oil are the key ingredients that characterise a perfect Italian-style pizza. As far as my experience goes, the quality of these ingredients in Europe is top class. Of course, we get pizzas all over the world. But I wonder if the taste and quality of a pizza we get in Europe matches the ones available outside the EU. Preparing dough by hand makes a substantial difference. It is then ball-shaped and fermented for at least 8 hours before being shaped into a pizza. In a wood-fired oven, the cooking takes less than two minutes once the oven is hot. That is how they do it in most of the pizzerias in Europe. With your favourite toppings and flavours, in goes the flattened pizza into the oven. And comes out with a hot, fairly thick crust that is crispy but light and airy inside, infused with the aroma of toppings.
To achieve the best and authentic taste, traditionally, pizza varieties are prepared in a wood-fired oven. However, alternatively, they can also be made in ovens at home.
Diavola Pizza
It is rare to find a pizza that has red onion toppings. The Diavola Pizza gives the crunchy freshness of onion in every bite, along with other special flavours. The core of the pizza consists of San Marzano tomato, fior di latte mozzarella, and spicy salami with fennel notes. That is not all. With fresh buffalo mozzarella and fennel seed pickles, every bite of it in your mouth would give an extra burst of freshness and flavour. Mr. Milliat makes sure that you indulge in a perfect balance of heat, tangy, and sweetness as you munch on Diavola Pizza.

Festive & Gourmet Pizza
Much like a magically infused perfume, the festive & gourmet pizza is layered with multiple notes of flavours. A cream base is enhanced with yellow wine, the Jura’s golden gem with warm and elegant notes, and blended with the mellow sweetness of black garlic. Ever heard of wine being used in the preparation of a Pizza? Here you have it. Irrespective of the key topping you use, mozzarella does its bit to enchant your taste buds. Melted Fior di latte mozzarella crowns it with luscious creaminess. And for the innovative touch, sautéed mushrooms, crispy spring onion greens, and a sprinkle of toasted pine nuts add crunch and sophistication. A festive, artistic, and daring flavour combination, made to delight every palate. How would you like to taste it?

A Pizza That Tastes Like Summer
Mr. Milliat assures that his signature preparation brightens your summer days. The never-seen-anywhere pizza has a smooth pea cream as a base, lifted by lemon and fresh mint. After baking, silky fior di latte mozzarella melts in, while al dente peas bring a crunchy freshness. Lemon zest brightens every bite like sunshine on the palate. Even the very sight of such a pizza with contrasting colours matches its succulent taste.

Now, for another twist with pea, there is the Sweet Pea Pizza from the same oven. With a flavoursome base of pea cream, mint, and lemon, it has a special appeal. To further enhance the taste, Fior di latte mozzarella, lemon zest, and a drizzle of olive oil are added. That is not all. The appearance becomes all the more appealing with edible flowers and fennel sprouts.

Flavourful Pizza
Resembling a colourful and vibrant garden, the pizza has a San Marzano tomato base. The perfectly baked and topped pizza with multiple ingredients looks just so overwhelming. Creamy fior di latte mozzarella, fresh arugula, delicate ham, and juicy cherry tomatoes look perfect on the baked pizza. A generous drizzle of fruity olive oil and fresh basil leaves completes the adornment of the flavourful pizza.

Pizza Marinara
It is a classical Neapolitan pizza predominantly rich in tomato, garlic, and oregano flavour. And when it comes from the oven of Mr. Milliat, Pizza Marinarabecomes a celebration of pure Mediterranean flavour. The evenly baked pizza, presented with a thick layer of crushed tomatoes and blended with garlic and fresh oregano, makes you crave more of it.

Summer Pizza
Another colourfully appealing pizza is ready. What makes the pizza gorgeous are different, colourful heirloom tomatoes. And it becomes special and delicious with raw shaved fennel, creamy fior di latte mozzarella, and crunchy pistachio bits. Adorned with edible flowers and crowned with fresh basil, it is irresistible.
A Mediterranean-hearted Pizza
It is colourful; it is flavourful and it is wholesome. Given the colour combination, for a moment, you may think of Pizza Margherita. Red, white, and green colours shine bright. San Marzano tomato base, grilled eggplant, and oven-roasted confit tomatoes perfectly balance the flavours. The fresh creaminess of burrata, which is an Italian cheese made from cow’s milk, adds a burst of summer flavours.

A Pizza With A Sweet Twist
Given the kind of flavourful experiments Mr. Milliat executes to bake the most enticing of Pizza varieties, naming each one becomes a daunting task. In this innovative taste twist, you get to tempt your taste buds with grilled peaches that bring a caramelized, fruity sweetness. Prosciutto and fresh ricotta add a sour flavour with creamy softness. It is given an enhanced appearance with thinly sliced raw fennel, adding a crisp, aromatic freshness.

Winding up is tough when such flavours linger on. The list of delightful pizza varieties remains unexhausted. Even as winter is setting in, we shall be exploring more such pizza varieties. Stay hungry, stay tuned.
