The month of September is a soothing period in the calendar. Even the climate is mellowing to embrace the lovely season. Such a time can only be more pleasant by adding a few heartwarming September movies to your list. Across the diverse genres of movies, heartwarming September movies present a nice collection of movies to watch. In fact, when I think of heartwarming movies, the Japanese ‘Little Forest’ movies always top my list. Nevertheless, in the list of heartwarming September movies, I have added a few others.

Latifah seems to be living a beautiful life. She has a loving husband who is the owner of an education foundation. They have a son, and she is carrying again. Dramatically, tragedy strikes her family. Her husband is diagnosed with stage four cancer. A while later, Latifah has a miscarriage and loses her baby before her husband succumbs to cancer. Now, young Latifah is left with her ADHD son, Gandhi, and the Al-Khayr Foundation. She is to take over as the chairwoman.

During the adaptation and transition period, she is guided by two gentlemen from the Centre. Mr. Arman and Mr. Sidik join her to assist. It so happens that Arman was her senior in college, and Latifah was his Ex. Although that is in the past, in his words. They soon become comfortable with each other. Arman goes the extra mile to learn about ADHD to get along with Gandhi. Their bond has already sparked rumours and stories. So much so, Arman returns to his hometown, to his family. Latifah is a widow, and Arman is someone’s husband. So, where do you think the story is going?

Alex’s life apparently is unsettled. She faces questions like whether she gave up her teaching, if she is working for her mother, and if her boyfriend is working at a record store. Even her mom asks her, ‘What is going on with you?’. Her mother has made her the CEO of Rose Cosmetics before she succumbs to cancer. Now that she is gone, the children assume that her wealth and company will go to Alex. However, they have surprises as the will of her mother is read out to them.

Most importantly and unexpectedly, 80% of the shares and title CEO go to her daughter-in-law, Catherine. It came as a huge surprise for all of them, more so for Alex. As expected, she is angry and disturbed as she feels fired from her office and is left with nothing. Towards the end of the will, there is a clause meant only for Alex. Her mom has left a message for her on a DVD.

In the envelop, she also finds a list of things she had written as a kid. Alex plays the DVD in which her mother reminds Alex of her dreams and aspirations, which she had as a child. In short, her mom wants Alex to check off everything on the list by the New Year. And at the end of which, she will get another envelop from the family lawyer. The clock is ticking! Let Me Be With You

In the opening scene, a remorseful, eighteen-year-old Bruno is seen being deported to Mexico. He is made clear that reentering the U.S. legally after deportation is practically impossible. He has no family in Mexico; therefore, he checks into a dormitory from where he is evicted after a week. Since he speaks English, he manages to find a job in a call center. That is where he gets connected to a call from Lucia, who is in a dire situation. Although it’s not his business, Bruno listens to her and helps her.

The call happens to be a long conversation where they disclose a lot about each other. The next morning, he is called up by his boss for a personal talk with a customer. Yet, he makes her believe that the customer is his girlfriend. Soon enough, Lucia visits him. Since he is homeless, she invites him to stay at her place. However, he always harbors the plan to cross over to the U.S. until one night, he is confronted by Lucia. He changes his mind and decides to stay with her. Soon, she tells him about her condition, and she doesn’t have much time left. Bruno has enough memories of her to remember her always.

And Omar cares little about his sister and doesn’t want to be with her.

His dream is to live independently and to become a singer. Their differences in attitude and approach carry the story forward, albeit filled with conflicts and confrontation. During the course of their journey, Omar demands that his sister hold an adult course for him. She gradually accepts that Omar is serious about what he wants to do in his life. His passion for music is unfading. The movie tells the story of Damiano Tercon in real life. And it is one of the heartwarming September movies you can watch this month.

There is always a good movie, a meaningful movie for everyone. If you go beyond your language or cultural boundaries, the world of movies is just vast. In this list of heartwarming September movies, you can watch a few such movies.
