Meat Stew
Let’s enjoy the first course. Mutton or beef stew with Palappam or bread is a delightful combination to start with. It is one of the Kerala delicacies enjoyed mostly on Easter day. Meat simmered in coconut milk with carrot, potato, green piece and spices form the enjoyable stew. Shallots, cashews, raisins, and a few special spices infuse the stew with all the special flavors needed. With coconut milk as the base and with a generous amount of cashew, it is the best starter. It has a mildly spicy gravy with a shallow sweet taste. Just imagine the delectable flavor and aroma oozing from the thick gravy.

Palappam and Dosa
Dosa varieties are common in all south Indian states. Among them, a Kerala delicacy is palappam. Although a traditional breakfast dish, it has now taken a significant role on lunch tables. What makes it special is the main ingredient, which is coconut milk. Other ingredients include rice powder, sugar, and yeast. Its attractively dotted and lacy round edges are formed thanks to the special type of pans used to cook.

Plain dosa is a common dish in Kerala. It is enjoyed with veg or nonveg curries. The batter is made predominantly with overnight-soaked rice and lentils. The fluffy batter is then artistically poured onto heated pans to dish out dosas. Enjoy it with fish or meat curry.
Prawns/Meat Biriyani
Here comes the main course. Although people in Kerala are never bored of eating plain rice, on special occasions, they resort to something like Biriyani. Hence, it is no surprise to find a Biriyani on an Easter menu. Biriyani is a famous dish available all over India. To awaken your taste buds, special rice is cooked with a fusion of spices, meat, and vegetables. For an occasion like Easter, nonveg biriyani is the best. Along with meat or prawns, spices like chili powder, turmeric, cinnamon, cloves, star anise, fennel, and pepper are needed. Onion, shallot, ginger, garlic, cashew, pineapple, etc. add a delightful taste to biriyani. Even as the meat/prawn is cooked, rice is also semi-boiled. Cooked meat/prawn is then added with rice in layers along with the blend of spices to be cooked with the lid closed. Once garnished with coriander leaves, ghee, fried onions, cashews, and raisins, it is served hot. With salad, pickles, and papad as side dishes, biriyani is sure to magnify your hunger pangs.

Prawns roast
Seafood delicacies take the prime spot when it comes to preparing Easter-special Kerala delicacies. Who doesn’t relish prawn roast? Marinated in spicy masalas, each piece of prawn oozes juicy flavors. Generally, king prawns are used or the biggest ones available. Properly cleaned prawns, rice flour, shallots, coconut bits, and spices like turmeric, cumin, black pepper, and chili, along with garlic and ginger blissfully combine to give you a mouthwatering experience. Roasted in coconut oil to get the authentic flavor, the final touch is given with curry leaves and a squirt of lemon.

Meat Roast
A semi-gravy or dry meat preparation is a must to compliment the Easter special Kerala delicacies menu. Customarily beef is used. Cube-cut pieces of meat are cleaned and mixed with spices like turmeric, chili, pepper, and garam masala. Well-blended combination is slow-cooked in an iron pan. Another set of spice combos which includes shallots, ginger, garlic, coconut bits, and curry leaves is finely sautéed. It would then be added to the cooked meat for a final stir-frying. Even the coconut bits would taste heavenly. The very sight of a steaming platter of meat in a bowl can salivate any food lover. Can you relish the appetizing aroma stemming from the bowl?
Pork Fry
They say the best of pork meat is available in a town called Angamaly in Ernakulam district of Kerala. In fact, Angamaly pork fry is famous. Quite obviously, you can find small outlets selling the meat in every nook and cranny of the town. With the meat, pretty much all the aforesaid ingredients are added to cook. However, what makes Angamaly pork fry a flavourful delight is the traditional way it is cooked. Even the clay pot and firewood used to cook make the dish distinctive. A generous amount of coconut oil, curry leaves, and coconut bits along with other spices, makes it so delightful. The brown-textured, aroma-rich, spicy pieces are sure to tempt you.
Fish Molly & Fish Curry
If you enjoy fish, Fish Molly is one of the tastiest Kerala delicacies you need to indulge in. Usually, pearl spotfish is used to make the dish. Rich, creamy, and less spicy stew is prepared with coconut milk and tomatoes along with other ingredients. A perfect blend of coconut milk, tomatoes, chili, and black pepper, gives the dish a unique zing. It is best enjoyed with Palappam.

Easter special Kerala delicacies menu is incomplete without a fish curry-tapioca combination being there. Every locality in Kerala has its unique style of cooking fish. Nevertheless, fish curry with brindle berry among other spices gives a splash of tangy flavor in the mouth. And enjoying it with tapioca is pure bliss. By adding raw mango or ground and roasted coconut, tomato, or pepper, or chili, you could alter the taste as you like.

Vattayappam with Chicken curry
A Vattayappam is a round-shaped, rice flour cake. Relatively simple and fluffy, it is tasty and filling. With the main ingredients like rice flour, coconut, salt, sugar, and yeast, it is no fussy preparation. Although it can be enjoyed just as it is, a combination of spicy chicken curry with it makes it more delectable.
Enjoy a Blessed Easter!
