Netflix Series “Lucifer” – Detailed Review

Lucifer: The Final Season

The Lucifer we all love is coming back. On the 10th of September 2021, the final season of Lucifer will be released. This is exciting news for the ones who liked watching this series. Lucifer was first released on 25 January 2016. With season one on FOX it has five total seasons till now; and last, final season sixth is coming this September on Netflix. Viewers are very excited as well as curious to know what happens next and how this beautiful series will end.

Lucifer is an American fantasy police procedural comedy-drama television series. It is an interesting series different from all others. It has a story plot base, but it is fictional. In this series, it is shown that Lucifer himself, the devil came on earth and lives in Los Angeles, the City of Angels, and owns a night dance club Lux. If you could ever imagine this condition in actual this would become scary, ecstatic. But the cast the story and the direction have made this fiction story indeed imaginable and interesting.

About the Show, Genre and Rating

The genre of this series is Occult detective fiction Urban fantasy, Police procedural, Comedy-drama, all with a pinch of Romance.

IMDB rates this show 8.1 on a scale of 10. It's a pretty good rating for a fantasy show like this. 95 % of Netflix users liked this show very much. It has shown a bonding connection between humans and celestial beings when they all visited earth. The beautiful cast of the show makes it splendid.

Lucifer Morningstar, also known as Samael or The Lightbringer, is one of God‘s angels and the infamous ruler of Hell. He served as the King of Hell for eons until he decided that he needed a change of scenery. Based on characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg; this series follows Lucifer, the original fallen angel, who has become dissatisfied with his life in hell. He's commonly known as the Devil or Satan by humans. Having grown tired of ruling the Underworld, after being cast out and fallen from Heaven; Lucifer voluntarily left his position in Hell to become a nightclub owner in Los Angeles.

The Cast and Direction

The character Lucifer (Tom Ellis) in the story met Chloe Decker (Lauren German). Chloe is a local police inspector on a murder case. He finds out that he himself can help police in finding out criminals and solve a murder. So he started working as a consultant for Los Angeles police department. This makes it more interesting because the devil himself is punishing murderers, criminals on earth. That is the only work of the devil; which was assigned to him by God himself and he started doing that on earth. He helped police in many murder cases and catches a lot of criminals with a parallel story of his life.

In the series, we often see his brother Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside), another Angel and son of God, brother of the devil. He also came on earth not to stay but to take the devil back to hell. We also see a demon from hell named Mazikeen (Lesley – Ann – Brandt). During the entire series, many celestials beings arrive like Charlotte (The Goddess) Eve, Marcus Pierce. The God himself appears in season 5 and that makes the story more intriguing.

This show is written by Tom Kapinos and Joe Henderson.

Produced by – Tom Kapinos, Jerry Bruckheimer, Alex Katsnelson, Karen Gaviola, Len Wiseman.

The Story

The story simply starts with a murder case. Lucifer's friend Delilah got murdered in front of Lux the night dance club owned by Lucifer himself. That's where he met Chloe. Decker Delilah is a good friend of Lucifer. Lucifer wants to catch the one who did this to her. So he started investigating the case on his own. He found some clues. The clues were very intriguing to the police. That's where police find out that Lucifer can work as a consultant. With his skills and knowledge, he could become an asset to the Police Department.

At times, some things started bothering Lucifer. He wanted someone to listen to him. So he started seeing doctor Linda Martin, the psychotherapist he met on Delilah's case. In conversation with her, he literally revealed that he is the devil. But the doctor did not actually believe it. She considered that he likes to call himself a devil. Besides she believed that like some patients he likes to call himself by another name. This goes on and on. He discussed some issues that he faces here on earth with life, detective Chloe and with celestial things, and the attraction he begins to feel for Chloe. Later on, in season 2 Lucifer revealed to his Psychotherapist, Dr. Linda that he is the real devil. He shows her, his real red devil face. At first, she couldn't believe that she actually was surrounded by celestial beings.

The Story Goes On……

The story goes on with celestial beings come and gone from the earth. And in season 5, The God (Graham MC Tavish) came to earth to meet their sons. The sons are on earth. He spent some days on earth with family and also referred to his problem that he is not going to be God. He said he wants to retire. So all the celestial beings, brothers and sisters of Lucifer, and Lucifer himself started fighting for the position of God.

The story goes on with some more murder cases which Detective Chloe and Lucifer solve together. There are some celestial truths that got revealed in front of some humans; how the celestial being and Heaven-Hell world works. Of course, this all is fiction but makes the story more intriguing and curious for the viewers who enjoy watching such fantasy genre. At the end of season 5, all the children of God come to earth to decide who would become the new God.

As we know from the show that Lucifer's twin brother Michael wants to fight and want to become God. He has the power to sense fear. So during the voting process between all brothers and sisters, he used his power and trick them all to be at his side. And the fight started, it's like a war between good and bad. Michael being bad, he lost and Lucifer becomes God. Everyone kneels in front of him.

This show has many ups and downs. And the story shows the truth of life and how we humans must behave in order to understand the cycle of life.

I only watched Lucifer for a few episodes, especially Season 3 because of Tom Welling (I love him). I really didn’t enjoy this series, not my cup of tea.
