The Plot

The Money Heist series revolves around two brilliant ideas of the heist. The first one is at ‘Royal Mint of Spain'. The first two seasons were covered by the story of this particular heist. Tokyo narrates the entire story from flashbacks and time jumps. The plan of the heist was completed and thoroughly executed by the lead role ‘The Professor' (Alvaro Morte). He is a genius and the mastermind behind these heists. His planning strategies are one of kind. The way he negotiates with police and CNI, The Intelligence is commendable.

Prieto is InCharge of this heist from Intelligence. Prieto plays steadily and thinks about the consequences of every move they make; while Raquel InCharge of negotiation from police negotiates well. For the heist, they have used city names instead of their original character names. The Professor operates and controls the heists from outside. He got almost caught by police InCharge of negotiation, Raquel. The real twist came in the game when Raquel got to know that the man behind this heist is the man she loves.

The Popularity

The Money Heist series is still going on and has received several awards including Best Drama Series at the 46th International Emmy Awards. Besides, it has been critically acclaimed for its sophisticated plot, interpersonal dramas, brilliant direction, and for trying to innovate Spanish television. The Italian anti-fascist song “Bella ciao,” which plays multiple times throughout the series, became a summer hit across Europe in 2018. By 2018, the series was the most-watched non-English-language series and one of the most-watched series overall on Netflix.

94 % of Netflix user has watched this original show, this indeed is a big hit. However, IMDB rates this show 8.3 on a scale of 10.

The First Money Heist

The first heist was a big hit. They never actually got caught and came out from Royal Mint as the winner with 2.4 billion euros; though there were ups and downs. They lost Oslo, Moscow two of their physically strong members. Moscow was a great loss to them. He was a master in drilling almost anything and digging tunnels. On the way down, the show lost Berlin, the leader of the first heist. He has given an outstanding performance around the show. He still appears in seasons 3,4 and 5 but in flashbacks and time jumps.

The show draws attention and keeps you hold your breath right from the beginning till the end. There was a beautiful mysterious chasing-chemistry between the professor and the police InCharge Raquel. In the second season, at the end of their first heist at Royal Mint, they declare their love for each other and decided to build their life together. At first, it felt like Raquel is with the police and bluffing with the Professor about love and running away together. But it happened and they live like happy birds as they hide in Thailand.

The Show Moves On…

The show goes on with Season 3 where The Professor and the team have to plan another heist to save one of their youngest robber Rio. Rio got caught from the beach of Panama, after 2 years of their first heist. The police took him to custody at an unknown place for the information. They specifically wanted to know about the location of other robbers and mainly the Professor. The Professor brilliantly planned the second heist as a comeback to get their team member Rio at ‘The Bank of Spain'. The comeback involved creating chaos inside the Bank of Spain. They entered as a part of the National Security team to protect the people of the bank. It was a part of their plan to come back.

At certain points in the show, the cast and the direction will remind you how precisely and brilliantly the show has been created and narrated. Each and every detail, each and every move they take have been thoroughly considered. The consequences have been thought through minutely so that nothing went wrong. This provided The Professor with the incredible power to prepare for the worst-case scenario.

In seasons 3, 4, and 5 there are some new characters. New robbers and Luis Tamayo will become new police InCharge of this heist. Alicia Sierra will become the new negotiator. Negotiator and Police both have different approaches and strategies this time, stronger than the first heist. Alicia Sierra is one fearless negotiator. Her strategies and skills are remarkably strong. She is considered being an expert in reading the psychology of robbers. She brilliantly answers every query from the Professor. Their conversation and negotiation are interesting and heart-pounding.

Further down the story !!!

As we move forward with the story, along with negotiation Alicia tries to attack the robbers emotionally. She tries to break them and offers them to surrender. The plan was to go in with armed forces, to attack and break them completely. On the other hand, Police caught Raquel and created chaos by faking her execution in the middle of the forest with a gunshot. But she is alive and in police custody. At this point, Alicia holds the story interestingly by creating chaos, confusion, and bluffing the robbers. She plays her card at right time smartly.

The Upcoming Season

As we walk down and move forward, the show will lose one of the most loved characters Nairobi; when police try to attack and destroy them. Nairobi is one open-hearted, fearless and bold character; absolutely always ready to help everyone. This time in this heist, there are more ups and downs than before. This coming season holds more mystery, more thrill, and of course more excitement.

There are many lessons as well which we as the audience learn. Such as, be absolutely prepared for anything that comes your way. The robbers were all prepared with everything. They even know how to perform a surgery. Take risks, because in life not everything is as easy as it looks from the outside. We must move and take risks. We must learn to examine and analyze the situation we are in or are going to be in. In that way, we can sail through this life and reach our destination.

Wait and Watch !!

The directors have left the show at the point where Alicia has caught the Professor red-handed; even when she is removed from the case and there is a search warrant under her name. That particular moment was breathtaking and shocking for all of us. They have left all viewers in absolute excitement. But all we can do is wait, wait, and think about what happens next until the new season arrives with all the answers to our questions. Hold your excitement and get ready to watch season 5 volume 1, on 3rd September.

Until then Bella Ciao.
