Today is Friday 6th August. The day is celebrated as International Beer Day throughout the world. India, my motherland, is not an exception. Why not venture out today to the top breweries in India? You must be thinking India and brewery? Isn't beer always imported into India?

Well, let me clear the confusion. India has some finest breweries to be extremely proud of. In recent times, many of them have popped up in different cities of India. Proudly producing exotic beers satiating your tastes and preferences, there are about 200 brewpubs in India. Most of them are located in Bengaluru and Gurgaon.

The White Owl in Mumbai

Arbor Brewing Company in Bengaluru is one of the finest breweries in India. It is headquartered in Michigan, started by Matt and Rene Greff. The branch in India was inaugurated in 2012, run by Gaurav Sikka, a native of Bengaluru. Its specialties are German beer or No Parking Pilsner, Honey Lavender Ale, Phat Abbot from Belgium, and Irish Stout Dark.

The brewery offers beer tasting opportunities, so must not miss it. Different varieties of ales like dark, bitter, smoked, and spiced can be tested by the beer connoisseurs. Countryside-style music entertains beer lovers and enthusiasts.

    It’s so funny: I’m based in Germany – definitely known for beer – and I always like the beer in other countries better. I’m sure I would prefer Indian beer, too.

    I love that these brewery’s maintain the general wooden, smoky vibe that is so common here in America! Can be like a second home for a tourist stopping in for a drink, so lovely. Also, fruit beer from Toit sounds awesome.

    I consider breweries to be just as interesting as vineyards. It’s great that they are celebrating beer day, so at least we are aware that they know how to spend an amazing time.

    This is my type of post! Yes, India I am sure has many noteworthy breweries. I have only heard of one of the breweries listed above. India generally doesn’t export its beer to the United States but I would love to see that change.
