Best 6 World’s cities for Street Art Graffiti

Street art, visible in some prominent cities of the world, is a reflection of a person's mind and thoughts on a particular subject, an individual, social concerns, or political matters. The paintings and art forms adorning various walls and buildings and even the roads are symbolical in drawing the attention of the public. Yet the artist retains the copyright just like any other art form. Nevertheless to me, they are some masterpieces curated with vivid talent and intrinsic skill. I admire the artists for their inherent capabilities in reproducing such amazing creations. Irrespective of any biased views, I want to acknowledge their innovative ideas and present before you the best cities in the world for street art graffiti.

London

Ever since I have started my journeys to various international destinations, London has been one of my favorite cities. I have been there several times, still, the yearning does not end. So unknowingly I picked up London as my first choice for the city famous for street art graffiti. The Square Mile of London is specifically lively with the extraordinary art forms of world-renowned painters Banksy, Grafter, and Shepard Fairey. The eastern districts of the city are another area showcasing the vivacious talents of Ben Slow. You must visit Camden, Brick Lane, and Shoreditch to witness the incredible street art graffiti. The other famous street artists in London are Stik, Bambi, Pegasus, Ben Wilson, and many more.

New York

The next in my choice of favorite international destinations is New York, especially since it's lively and booming with activities. The city is a remarkable combination of modernization and serenity baked into it. And such is its street art graffiti, popular among travelers and the locals. The two famous places to witness the wonderful creations are Williamsburg and the Bronx. The murals at the World Trade Center are the best, which keep on changing at frequent intervals. The neighborhood of the lower east side is particularly significant in hosting 75 murals of street art graffiti. I love specifically the paintings of a huge number of birds in various parts of the Broadway streets starting from 133rd to the 165th. The idea is noble, creating awareness about global warming and the need to protect the birds.

Paris

Paris is a phenomenal city for many Indians. The reason is the yesteryear movie, “An Evening in Paris”, featuring two famous actors Sharmila Tagore and Shammi Kapoor. My dream has not yet come true but I have virtually visited Paris through the eyes of my parents. And from them, I heard and saw pictures of street art graffiti in Paris. 59 rue de Rivoli is one of the best places to observe the exotic paintings of several talented artists. A prominent painting in Paris is the cat drawn by Mr. Chat. It's a huge one, yellow in color and painted on the road, drawing the attention of the passersby every day. The Marais neighborhood is quite famous in Paris. if you are an art lover, you must visit it and watch the paintings of various birds on the walls.

Melbourne

I want to mention specifically Melbourne after hearing a lot about the city from my friend. I have seen several pictures of street art graffiti and surely will like to include those places on my trip to Melbourne. Meyers Place is one of the best areas in the city to observe some amazing artworks on the walls and buildings. The murals of the urban jungle are incredibly beautiful and lively. Presgrave Place is a must-visit. You can find the paintings framed and small sculptures adorning the walls. Hosier Lane is quite famous among the tourists, many posing for pictures with the murals.

Delhi

How can I miss mentioning the capital city of my motherland India? The city is gifted now with some magnificent street art graffiti luring art lovers towards them. The best among them is the Lodhi Colony. The entire area has been transformed into a vibrant and lively state by the astonishing artworks by eminent artists. Hauz Khas village is the next destination you must not miss out on to watch street art graffiti. It has been showcased in a few Hindi movies too. The most notable among the street art is the huge painting of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of our nation, at the Delhi Police headquarters.

Sao Paulo

A prominent city of Brazil in South America and known to many. You may be astonished to hear that the city is also well known for its street art graffiti. It is said to be a hub of diverse culture clubbed with exclusive artistic touch by famous painters. Beco do Aprendiz is a prominent neighborhood, which was once a dark alley but now converted to an open-air art gallery hosting exotic street arts. The Cambuci and Pinheiros neighborhoods are worth mentioning for art lovers. The walls, buildings, and roads showcase the talent and skill of the local as well as world-famous artists.

There are many more cities in the world, I have heard of, excelling in street art graffiti. I have shared my experiences, will love to hear about your experiences too.
