An Emergency Talk Back Unit has been installed at several points in the train, enabling passengers to communicate with the loco pilot in case of any emergency.

Current Routes

Train 18 was renamed Vande Bharat Express on 27th January 2019. It went into commercial service on 15 February 2019. Vande Bharat trains have been expanded to 18 different routes since.

1. The Vande Bharat between New Delhi and Varanasi covers a distance of 762 km in 8 hours. The train halts at two stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 15th Feb 2019, runs on all days of the week, except Thursdays.

2. The Vande Bharat between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra covers a distance of 655 km in 8 hours. The train halts at three stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 3rd Oct 2019, runs on all days of the week, except Tuesdays.

3. The Vande Bharat between Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar covers a distance of 522 km in 6 hours and 25 mins. The train halts at two stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 30th Sep 2022, runs on all days of the week, except Sundays.

4. The Vande Bharat between New Delhi and Amb Andaura covers a distance of 412 km in 6 hours and 30 mins. The train halts at four stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 13th Oct 2022, runs on all days of the week, except Fridays.

5. The Vande Bharat between MGR Chennai Central and Mysuru covers a distance of 496 km in 6 hours and 30 mins. The train halts at two stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 11th Nov 2022, runs on all days of the week, except Wednesdays

6. The Vande Bharat between Bilaspur and Nagpur covers a distance of 412 km in 5 hours and 30 mins. The train halts at four stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 11th Dec 2022, runs on all days of the week, except Saturdays.

7. The Vande Bharat between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri covers a distance of 565 km in 7 hours and 30 mins. The train halts at three stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 30th Dec 2022, runs on all days of the week, except Wednesdays.

8. The Vande Bharat between Vishakhapatnam and Secunderabad covers a distance of 698 km in 8 hours and 30 mins. The train halts at six stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 15th Jan, 2023, runs on all days of the week, except Sundays

9. The Vande Bharat between Mumbai CSMT and Solapur covers a distance of 452 km in 6 hours and 30 mins. The train halts at four stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 10th Feb, 2023, runs on all days of the week, except Wednesdays.

10. The Vande Bharat between Mumbai CSMT and Sainagar Shirdi covers a distance of 339 km in 5 hours and 20 mins. The train halts at three stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 10th Feb, 2023, runs on all days of the week, except Tuesdays.

11. The Vande Bharat between Rani Kamalapati and Hazrat Nizamuddin covers a distance of 702 km in 7 hours and 30 mins. The train halts at four stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 1st Apr 2023, runs on all days of the week, except Saturdays.

12. The Vande Bharat between Secundrabad and Tirupati covers a distance of 661 km in 8 hours and 15 mins. The train halts at four stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 8th Apr, 2023, runs on all days of the week, except Tuesdays

13. The Vande Bharat between MGR Chennai Central and Coimbatore covers a distance of 495 km in 5 hours and 50 mins. The train halts at four stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 8th Apr 2023, runs on all days of the week, except Wednesdays.

14. The Vande Bharat between Delhi Cnt and Ajmer covers a distance of 428 km in 5 hours and 15 mins. The train halts at three stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 12th Apr 2023, runs on all days of the week, except Wednesdays.

15. The Vande Bharat between Kasaragod and Thiruvananthapuram covers a distance of 587 km in 8 hours and 05 mins. The train halts at seven stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 25th Apr 2023, runs on all days of the week, except Thursdays.

16. The Vande Bharat between Howrah and Puri covers a distance of 500 km in 6 hours and 25 mins. The train halts at seven stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on the 18th of May, 2023, runs on all days of the week, except Thursdays.

17. The Vande Bharat between Anand Vihar and Dehradun covers a distance of 304 km in 4 hours and 45 mins. The train halts at five stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 25th May 2023, runs on all days of the week, except Wednesdays.

18. The Vande Bharat between New Jalpaiguri and Guwahati covers a distance of 407 km in 5 hours and 30 mins. The train halts at five stations in the journey. The train inaugurated on 29th May 2023, runs on all days of the week, except Tuesdays.
