Nepal, a country in southeast Asia, is intertwined between culture and the beauty of Mother Nature. The diverse geographical landscape with high mountains and green plains portray the uniqueness of the place. The golden temples reflect the religious sentiments of the locals and their eternal faith on the Almighty. Reminiscing my visit and sharing with you the 3 best places to visit in Nepal.

Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal
Visit Kathmandu is both exhaustive and intriguing. On the one side, you will be spellbound by the artistic marvel of more than 130 historic and religious buildings and on the other side, you may have to patiently traverse the jam-packed town. It is one of the best religious places to visit in Nepal.
The city has numerous religious sites to visit. The famous Buddhist stupa, Swayambhunath, stands at the top of a hillock and is one of the holy religious temples of the Buddhists. One has to climb an array of stairs before reaching the stupa buts it's worth a walk as it opens up a serene view of the Kathmandu valley along with its artistic beauty. Its popularly known as the “Monkey Temple” and you will be encountered by a group of holy monkeys who are residing for generations after another.

One of the most sacred Hindu temples, The Pashupatinath Temple, built in the name of Lord Shiva is worshipped by thousands. The temple stands at the banks of the river Bagmati and is one of the oldest and holy temples of the Hindu community. One must respect the rituals within the temple as locals are very sensitive about the sacred place and the religious beliefs.

There are several UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kathmandu, the famous among them being the Kathmandu Durbar Square, the Patan Durbar Square, and the Bhaktapur Durbar Square. The three Durbars are the reminiscence of the old kingdom of Nepal and consist of palaces, temples, wide courtyards, museums, water fountains along with some excellent wooden works.
Away from the cultural and religious heritage, Kathmandu has another part to its excellence. Thamel, one of the popular nightlife zones of the city, presents an alternate picture with live music, roadside food shops, shops selling jewelry, handicrafts. It's one of the best places for crazy shopping in Nepal.
The city is flanked by several palaces, gardens, museums, and chowks and travelers sometimes opt for moving down the roads in an old rickshaw to reincarnate the ancient royal charm of the city.
As you move towards the edge of the bowl-shaped Kathmandu valley, you will come across some of the breathtaking views of the Himalayas in a small village called Nagarkot. The sunrise and the sunset create a spectacular atmosphere across the stunning Himalayan ranges.

The sweet chirping of the birds adds a splendid effect to the captivating view of the lake and as the dusk prevails, a scintillating atmosphere is created instilling serenity and calmness around.

The mystic beauty of Pokhara is endless with the enthralling view of the sunrise and sunset at Sarangkot. Sarangkot, a small village, is famous for the magnificent views of the Annapurna range, Fishtail mountains, Dhaulagiri range, and the Manaslu. The rising sun rays mesmerize the entire landscape with the reddish glow encompassing the blue sky. It's a photographer's paradise where one can capture images of the exotic charisma of the place.

Another prominent place to visit in Pokhara is the World Peace Pagoda or the Shanti Stupa. Situated at a height of 1000 m, the glowing white Pagoda was created by the Buddhist monks and is one of the World's greatest stupas. The brilliance of the place is its freshness which relieves the soul from all the worries and casts a shadow of peace on the human heart and mind.

Amazing Gondola ride across the Chandragiri Hills
Chandragiri Hills is the favorite destination of travelers worldwide as it offers a multitude of platters of the Annapurna Hills, Fishtail mountains, Gaurishankar Himal, Mount Everest. The cable car takes about 10 to 15 minutes to cover the 2.5 km distance to the Hills. The gondola ride is quite thrilling embracing the greenery of Thankot and Chandragiri Hills. A light breeze greets you once you reach your destination and refreshes the mind with its soothing touch. It is one of the spectacular places to visit in Nepal.
